Review of fluid balance chart. Explained function and purpose of bladder and what bladder urgency is. Highlighted importance of fluid intake and lifestyle measures and how all of this will help support her bladder training.
Suggested bladder training programme (in view of her fluid balance chart starting to void whether she needs to go or not at one hour and 15 minutes). This is a realistic programme designed to meet her needs and her present frequency taking into account her lack of confidence and concentration due to her poor sleeping.
Edith experiences nocturia 4 times/night. She also complains of incomplete emptying. Conducted a bladder scan which showed no retention.
Edith advised on bladder training programme, given fluid advice and taught urgency suppression techniques. She is also advised that if she feels she is improving she can self schedule and increase the time interval over the next four weeks.
