Introduction

This activity looks into the knowledge and skills required by health and social care staff to understand the effect that loss or changes in feeling (sensation) may have on a person following stroke.

NB: Information within this module has been through full review and updated February 2022.

 

Learning points:

  • Describe the effects of loss or changes in feeling on the face, arm and leg following stroke
  • Outline how/why the loss or changes in feeling following stroke may be detrimental to the individual
  • Identify ways of protecting the individual from injury due to loss or changes in feeling following stroke
