4: Specialist care

Introduction

This activity explores the knowledge and skills required to enable health and social care staff to recognise the impact that specialist care has on how a person may recover from their stroke.

NB: This module has undergone a full content review and update March 2021 

Learning point:

  • Identify the reasons why stroke care within a specialised stroke unit results in better outcomes than care within a non-specialised environment
