Introduction
This activity looks into the knowledge and skills required to enable health and social care staff to assess an individual’s level of consciousness, airway, breathing and circulation.
NB: Please refer to the Resuscitation Council UK and your local Health Board for further guidance and resources.
Learning points:
- Assess the individual’s airway, breathing and circulation and level of consciousness
- Explain the action to take if the individual has a blocked airway
- Explain the action to take if the individual is not breathing and/or has no pulse
