How might a person describe loss of feeling?

Following a stroke, a person might describe loss of following as any of the following – pins and needles, numbness, hot or cold, ‘dead’, heaviness, burning and/or tingling. In fact any of these might be true – a person may describe their loss of feeling as one or several of these.
