3. Problems which may be experienced when reading

A book says, 'the cat sat on the mat', but the stroke sufferer may read it as, 'the man ate the cat'.

A book says, ‘the cat sat on the mat’, but the stroke sufferer may read it as, ‘the man ate the cat’.

The person may have difficulty recognising or understanding the words or letters on the page. The longer the sentences the more difficult it will be for them to read.
