There are 4 main components which make up our visual system:
- Eyes – a pair of eyes
- Muscular control of the eyes – this allows smooth and coordinated movement of both eyes
- Visual pathways – the route that visual information takes from the eyes to the brain
- Visual perception – the brain’s interpretation of what the eyes are seeing
