Irene is outside having a cigarette. What advice would you give her to reduce her risk of stroke?
Irene’s story
I’m Bob’s wife Irene. I’m 52. Because Bob is away for long spells, I keep myself busy walking the dog and going to the gym 3 times a week. Excuse me while I pop outside for a quick cigarette.
- Irene needs to stop smoking – she can get help from smoking cessation services, nicotine replacement therapy and other support
- She also needs an annual blood pressure and health check
- Maintain exercise levels
- Work together with Bob to support each other
